Advertisement appearing in the Hampshire Gazette, January
29, 1790: 'President Washington, when he addressed the two houses of
Congress on the 8th instance, was dressed in a crow-coloured suit of
clothes of American manufacture. This elegant fabric was from the
manufactory in Hartford.'
